Established 13 years ago Support 4 Change is a support group for relatives and friends who are close to someone suffering from substance abuse, Alcohol or Drugs. Substance abuse can affect the whole family not just the user.<\/p>\n

Those caring for users feel the strong need to rescue their loved ones but often without much success. They feel deep hurt, anger, frustration, shame and depression. They blame themselves for the problem and feel isolated, thinking there’s no one to talk to.\u00a0We as a group help them to realise it\u2019s not their fault, and they cannot save the user, only the user can do that.<\/p>\n

In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, members can share each other\u2019s experiences, learn coping strategies and benefit from one-to-one consultations if needed.<\/p>\n

We try to support them to live their lives in the best way\u00a0possible, while caring for their loved ones with addiction.<\/p>\n

We currently meet up every in Doncaster on a Monday evening from 18.15 – 20.15 (except bank holidays), and on a Saturday morning Drop-in from 10am to 12pm in Thorne, and also use the WhatsApp platform to keep in touch. We also have day trips, meals out and complimentary therapies which help us to relax and enable us to forget for a few hours.<\/p>\n
